At the Lagos Startup Expo, most booths were showcasing the latest apps or cutting-edge hardware. But there was something refreshingly different when I stopped by the Harde Business School exhibition space. No flashy prototypes—just an eagerness to connect, to explain, and to inspire, Particularly to inspire and impact and i didnt hesitate to mention that to Segun, The Staff who attended to me in the video interview below.
He spoke about transformation and The bid to make Education as a tool of impact more inclusive and accesible. What resonated with me was the focus on real-world impact, not on headline-making fancy degrees, but on equipping emerging leaders with clarity, confidence, and the tools to lead in Africa’s fast-paced business environment with already experienced personnels taking lead.
Harde was introduced as a digital vehicle for educational transformation in Africa and other emerging markets. They don’t just run professional courses—they’ve built a proprietary e-learning platform capable of delivering everything from entry-level certifications up to full MBAs and Executive Programs, all designed to be affordable, flexible, and immediately applicable
When I asked about their Expo moment, Segun shared how there were several testimonials spread all over social media on how HARDE BUSINESS SCHOOL has benefitted them and how hundreds of curious professionals stopped by to explore programs like their Entry-Level Professional Course, which covers personal effectiveness, business writing, emotional intelligence, and foundational data analytics. The energy in the room was palpable, not because of marketing material, but because people were hungry to upskill.
What I appreciated was the balance between soft and hard skills, delivered through immersive weekend webinars led by industry experts, names of which are mentioned in the video attached below. And of course i asked how much it would cost to partake in these Courses, He replied their micro courses costing 20,000NGN , entry level professional courses costing 50,000 allowing flexible payment plans (yes, they offer them), and mentorship and hand holding paving ways for their Graduands in the real world and the schedule of their upcoming Business Leadership Executive Program, priced LGN ₦400,000, nine to ten weeks long, and led by seasoned professionals.
By the end of the day, it struck me: Harde isn’t trying to be the flashiest EdTech startup on the floor. It’s trying to be the most relevant. Whether it’s a young graduate learning emotional intelligence, a mid-career professional mastering finance, or a team preparing for leadership roles, Harde is delivering education that fits the African context accessible, embedded, and transformational.
One thing i realized for sure is they’re not promising overnight fame. But they are promising real-world skills, real-world growth, and real changes in how professionals show up. And in a continent hungry for leadership, that could be a game-changer.
